Best album cover art: See the winners of the Best Art Vinyl 2014 awards

The Best Art Vinyl 2014 public poll reached over 12,000 participating voters, expressing their views on the best in art, photography and graphic design in modern music culture.
With the sales of vinyl records now at a 20 year high, the awards run by Art Vinyl demonstrate how this annual snapshot of record cover design has captured the imagination.

Voters expressed their views on the best vinyl artwork for the year and voted Dan Hillier’s stunning illustration for the debut album by Royal Blood in at the top spot. In second place was the debut from FKA Twigs, followed by Singles by Future Islands.
This year’s design follows 2013’s winner, an astronaut painting for the White Lies album Big TV. Previous winners include Thom Yorke’s The Eraserfrom regular Radiohead contributor Stanley Donwood, and work from the sixteenth century Dutch artist Pieter Bruegel for The Fleet Foxes eponymous LP.
Touring exhibitions featuring the 50 favourite sleeves from 2014 will begin next year across the UK, as well as Italy and Hungary, but for now feast your eyes on the top 20 in the Art Vinyl public poll (and then feast your ears by purchasing vinyl from your local independent record shop).
